Exciting News from Smart Kidz Club!
We are so thrilled to officially announce our 2025 Summer Camps in Edmonton and Halifax—and they’re going to be bigger, better, and bolder than ever before!
EDMONTON: July 21–25
HALIFAX: August 5–8
At Smart Kidz Club, we believe in the power of fun, learning, and exploration. Our summer camps are more than just a getaway—they’re an opportunity for children to develop new skills, build friendships, and gain confidence in a safe, supportive, and creative environment.
Each day is thoughtfully planned with interactive learning, outdoor activities, cultural experiences, and loads of team-based fun. From treasure hunts and storytelling to STEM projects and team-building games, we create an atmosphere where curiosity and creativity are encouraged every step of the way.
These camps are ideal for children aged 5–12, and offer a unique blend of academic enrichment and play-based learning. With experienced educators and program leaders guiding the way, parents can feel confident their children are in great hands.
We’re committed to making these camps accessible, inclusive, and impactful, especially for families in underrepresented communities.
Why join us?

  • Safe, structured environment
  • Engaging curriculum tailored to children’s interests
  • Focus on character development, leadership, and social-emotional learning

SmartKidz Language Classes

Language is one of the important parts of any culture. It is said to be the way by which people communicate with one another, build relationships, and create a sense of community.
At Smartkidz we believe part of our heritage preservation is speaking our language. Smartkidz runs workshops on various African languages (based on participants interests). Join us for any of our language classes or let us know if you like a particular language featured in our language workshop (send us an email at thesmartkidzclub@gmail.com

SmartKidz Story Time

story

African stories are rich in morals and for teaching, passing on cultural values, and for making points about life.
Story telling is an important aspect of African education.
At Smartkidz we carefully select African folktales, stories, riddles, and proverbs which aim at molding character and providing children with moral values such as honesty, integrity, courage, and lots more.

SmartKidz Kitchen Time

At Smartkidz club, we believe that cooking is an art, and getting kids engaged in the kitchen helps Cognitive Development: Cooking encourages children’s thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. It also allows children the opportunity to use the knowledge they have and apply it by counting, measuring, following a sequence, following directions, and cause and effect. The kids also develop a sense of ownership, and the value of the output and proudly consume the food they created.
We believe food is part of our cultural expression, and as part of Smartkidz goals of heritage preservation, we expose the kids to a wide array of African food and snacks as part of the Smartkidz kitchen experience. Watch out and join us for any of our Smartkidz kitchen time, its always a delightsome experience for the kids.

SmartKidz Got Goals

Goal setting for children is important because it gives them a sense of purpose that can improve their confidence and build their self-esteem.
We often have goals setting session twice in the year, typically, in January and September.

Black History Month Stories of Black Icons

Stories/ History preserve culture and pass on cultural knowledge from one generation to another. In essence, stories keep cultures alive. Stories provide a timeless link to ancient traditions, legends, myths, and archetypes. But they also connect us to universal truths about ourselves and our world.
One of the ways Smartkidz celebrates African / Black History months is to share stories of amazing people from different works of life that the kids can see themselves in and can relate with and they learn and get inspired by the amazing stories.

Smarkidz Moments with Mom/ Dad

kid and parent

Just for the love of our moms and dads.
We engage the kids in various fun activities to celebrate mom and dad on their special day.
From specially made arts and crafts just for mom/ dad to a special treat or special one on one activity with mom/dad.
Smartkidz celebrates along with moms and dads around the world the important role they play in the our family, community, and world at large.

Smartkidz Debate

debate

We believe at Smartkidz that kidz can learn useful skills for other academic pursuits and life more generally through debates.
Most obviously, debaters build confidence by speaking in public and expressing their ideas eloquently.
Watch out for and register for our upcoming debates.

Smartkidz Teens Corner

Our teens are also critical to us and they are not left out, so we have quarterly/ occasional educational programs for our teens too.

Smartkidz African Themed Summer Camp

summer camp flier

Some studies have found that camp helps children build their independence, resiliency, and self-esteem in a safe, supervised, and supportive environment.
At smartkidz we bring this home by incorporating and tailoring the activities to be African-centric to enable the kidz to gain and experience Africa values and culture.
